QLD LNP should serve as a warning to folks who think Dutton won’t reverse legislation or break promises.
As soon as they were elected the QLD LNP abandoned support for Treaty with First Nations people. The disrespect for our oldest living culture is astounding.
QLD LNP have also set about cutting funding to healthcare. They have discontinued work on hospital expansions, builds and have delayed the QLD Cancer Clinic by 3 years or more. Regional programs for doctors and nurses have been cut. Walk-in nurse-led clinics have been cut while the LNP spend $210,000 on renaming satellite hospitals - to downgrade their services and importance by calling them clinics. While the LNP screamed about ambulance ramping while in opposition - the levels of ramping are rising under the LNP government.
The LNP have cut funding to homelessness by $45 million, while adding barriers and red tape to Labor’s affordable housing policy. As an added bonus they have suspended Best Practice Industry Conditions for government development. This will undermine workers’ rights and safety on building sites and allow government builders of choice to exploit their workers. Cristafulli has also sacked the only representative for workers on the WorkCover QLD Board. The QLD LNP do NOT have the workers’ best interests at heart - and in fact would appear to be making it more difficult for workers in Queensland.
The election-promise direct rail to Maroochydore has been abandoned by the LNP while AirTrain fares have more than doubled for commuters .
.. and let’s not forget the Olympic stadium the LNP are now building that they didn’t want in opposition. Billions of dollars that they couldn’t find in opposition is now available. This is one of the reasons that the LNP are making cuts to healthcare, housing and homelessness . Bread and circuses, folks. Blink and you’ll miss the roman-era reference while you’re enjoying watching the games from the new Colosseum.
Don’t start me on the emission reduction targets renege and the complete sabotage of renewable energy projects in Queensland. But at least the Callide coal-fired power plant is operational for 3 more years past its use-by date after more than one incident - including a recent explosion last week.
Those great Labor energy rebates that everyone enjoyed, including pensioners? The QLD LNP won’t commit to them. Don’t expect energy rebate relief under the QLD LNP.
This is only the tip of iceberg. With the help of a compliant and sympathetic media, the QLD LNP will continue to demonstrate that good governance is not achievable with a Campbell Newman 2.0 regime.
I haven’t evenn started on the human rights, abortion and gender debate.
Vote for Crisafulli on steroids with TemuTrump at your own risk.
